2012 – A Year in Review

It has been an exciting year of growth and change at Pronto Software.

As a company, we hit the ground running at Kickstart in February and had a great time discussing with Australian business and technology media what 2012 would have in store for the ERP and BI space. At the same time, we were proud to launch a new brand and direction for the company that has seen us through a series of significant milestone moments this year.

We’ve embarked on relationships with some fantastic new customers, including Retail Prodigy Group, Inspirations Paint and a range of others we are soon to announce. We also shared plenty of customer moments via our case studies portal. For us, it’s always a pleasure to share how we can use technology to help customers learn more about their operations through access to data.

The Carbon Tax:

In 2012, Australia was consumed with talk of what the impending Carbon Tax would bring. To help businesses prepare for a new era in carbon pricing, we launched the Pronto Software Carbon Tracking tool. The tool now offers Pronto Software customers the ability to monitor carbon “hot spots” within their own business and identify potential ways to manage their carbon outputs.

To assist our customers in building their understanding for carbon management, we also published a white paper. The paper is free to read and is hosted via the Pronto Software website.


We were proud to once again win an Australian Business Award for Product Excellence in August. Pronto Xi received recognition in the Product Excellence Award category in the Software Publishing Industry sector, for the second year running.

Big Data:

We’ve seen the term Big Data and the concept of data applications evolve so much in the past twelve months. We who have worked with data for many years may have a different perception of how it can be applied to business than some newcomers.

Pronto’s International Expansion:

The last quarter of the year has seen Pronto announce multiple new operations in markets outside of Australia. We are thrilled to have built on our operations in North America with a new office in Dallas, which coincides with the reveal of Herschend Family Entertainment as Pronto’s largest customer in that market.

In December, we officially opened the Pronto Software Mobility Research Centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Centre will act as a hub of innovation strengthening capabilities to further integrate our ERP, BI and data analytics solutions with mobile technology.

Australian Expansion:

Back on the home front, we were thrilled to expand operations and open new branches in Perth and Adelaide. These areas continue to be a key focus for us moving into 2013.

2012 has been a great year that has seen so many of our customers find their moment, and we are confident 2013 will bring even more. While the industry buzzes about new terms such as Big Data, we see next year being the catalyst for Data Intelligence, innovation and greater collaboration with our customers.
